The "Non-firm Connections Insights" dataset contains half-hourly MVA measurements of the majority of SPEN operated Primary substation's and Grid Supply Points. A small number of these sites are not available due to a lack of recorded data or monitoring equipment.
The data uses an index ranging from 100 to 0 in 1/17524 second increments, and the MVA values for each transformer listed are sorted from smallest to largest value. This results in a year's worth of transformer loading data, which will be updated in quarterly intervals.
The table gives the following information:
- Percentile 0 to 100 for every substation

Disclaimer
Whilst all reasonable care has been taken in the preparation of this data, SP Energy Networks does not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy or completeness of this data, and is not liable for any loss that may be attributed to the use of this data. For the avoidance of doubt, this data should not be used for safety critical purposes without the use of appropriate safety checks and services e.g. LineSearchBeforeUDig etc. Please raise any potential issues with the data which you have received via the feedback form available at the Feedback tab above (must be logged in to see this).
This data is historic only, and does not represent the true available capacity of the SPEN network. There are many contracted projects that are planned to use available capacity on the SPEN network which are not represented in this dataset.
This dataset is not live - there will be a lag between available data and the date it was compiled, and due to it updating quarterly, will further lag behind real time values. The year's worth of data will therefor not represent from the current date back one year, but rather several months prior - and back a year from that date instead.
Whilst we use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the data contained within the register is accurate, we do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy or the completeness of the content or any loss which may arise from reliance on the register and related information.
Data Triage
As part of our commitment to enhancing the transparency, and accessibility of the data we share, we publish the results of our Data Triage process.
Our Data Triage documentation includes our Risk Assessments; detailing any controls we have implemented to prevent exposure of sensitive information. Click here to access the Data Triage documentation for the Non-Firm Connections Insight dataset.
